Dunfermline V Ayr at East End Park - Match Preview

Pars boast fully-fit squad

Dunfermline full-back Alex Whittle has recovered from a training ground knock to give manager Jim Jefferies a full squad to choose from as the Pars host Ayr.

Jefferies said: "Ayr are a good side, particularly in attack, and they are one of the teams I believe will be involved in the race for promotion. Therefore we need to be on the top of our game to win.

"We showed great spirit again last week to grab a late winner against Airdrie.

"Whilst that is a terrific attribute to have, we should really be killing games off and not relying on late goals to secure us three points."

Martyn Campbell (calf) is Ayr player-manager Mark Roberts' only absentee as his side head to East End Park with Gordon Pope and Alan Forrest both available after completing two-game bans.

Former Scotland striker Kevin Kyle is expected to be named on the bench for the third week running.

Roberts said: "We have a real incentive to win this game as if we do and Rangers see off Stenhousemuir, we will be hosting a top-of-the-table clash next weekend at our place.

"Dunfermline have a great incentive to win the game as well as it would keep them in second place and open up a gap on ourselves."
