Monday 9.00pm - Pars fans get ready for bed delighted. Delighted by the removal of the Hay regime, delighted by the interim appointment of Jim Leishman and delighted by the fact that survival suddenly looks possible once again.
What a difference a day makes!! Before Monday this Saturday's game against Dundee was being viewed by Pars fans as the day we were to be condemned to the First Division. But now, just because a few blokes have been handed their jotters, it is being viewed as the catalyst for a Pars revival. To go from a feeling of depression to such a feeling of euphoria within the space of literally 24 hours highlights just what being a Pars fan is all about. Although it's not always smooth riding, I doubt many Pars fans would change it for the world. Certainly beats following one of the bigot brothers and following their paranoia agenda week after week.
With 'Mr Dunfermline' back at the helm this Saturday should prove to be oe of the best atmospheres at East End Park in recent times. With Leish bouncing about the touchline to the backdrop of 'Walking down the Halbeath Road' being belted out from the terraces it should be a somewhat unique nienty minutes tomorrow. We have a man at the helm who feels as passionately about our team as we do, who will hurt like we hurt if we concede a goal or lose a match. No more of this communication breakdown guff from Hay and Driftwood, you can bet your house on the fact that Leish will be screaming like nobody's business on the touchline, urging th Pars on to a precious three points.
With some even touting figures of up to about 8000 to turn out for this most historic of games, one thing would appear to be very very clear. Saturday is going to be absolutely bouncing from start to finish. From 'One Jim Leishman' to 'Walking down the Halbeath Road' the noise from the terraces should help spur on a group of players rejuvinated after a pre-match Jim Leishman team talk. Bring on the Dee!!!
COME ON YE PARS!!!!!
