Montrose will be missing flu victim Hugh Davidson and injured centre-half Jonathan Crawford.
Player/manager Steven Tweed must decide whether to play or to bring in Gordon Pope, who returns after suspension.
Dunfermline manager Jim McIntyre: "The carrot of Aberdeen in the next round is there for both teams and we will have to be well up for the game to ensure it is Dunfermline who progresses to Pittodrie.
"We played very patiently at their place after they had taken the lead and we may well need to show patience in abundance again."
Montrose manager Steven Tweed: "We have gone to Stranraer - undefeated at home - and won, and on Saturday we did the same to Albion Rovers.
"It would be great to do the same to Dunfermline, however I realise we face a massive task. But if the players give everything they can you never know.
"They gave everything in the first meeting and if they do the same in the second I will be pleased regardless of the result."
