After making his Pars debut on the plastic on Sunday in the second-half against Celtic, Georgi Hristov already has his reservations about the pitch:
"To be honest I cannot say whether or not the pitch is better or not, I have only been here a few weeks. I think all players prefer grass but what can I do if I don't like the pitch?"
Performing at left-back for Martin O'Neill's side in Sunday's Scottish Cup tie, Danish defender Ulrik Laursen has heavily criticised the pitch, insisting that the Pars players aren't fond of the pitch either:
"I actually spoke to the Dunfermline lads to tell them how much I felt sorry for them having to train and play on that pitch every week. And I know that they probably hate it more than anyone! I don't see it benefiting them over a period of time."
"For me football on a pitch like that just isn't football, certainly not the kind that I'd pay to watch. I'll be delighted if I never have to play on it again!"
With the two-year trial period for the pitch set to end in the summer and Yorkston seemingly ready to install a new model, it seems that the plastic is here to stay even though it is apparantely clear to all that the pitch is little more than an absolute joke!
