JIM McINTYRE APPOINTED MANAGER

In what is probably the least biggest shock since Dawn French once admitted she was partial to the odd snack Jim McIntyre this afternoon was permanently installed as Pars gaffer, signing a two-and-a-half year contract with the club.

After an excellent stint as caretaker manager, a period which has seen the Pars rise from second-bottom to fourth, McIntyre became clear favourite for the job, in turn ruling out John Robertson and Terry Butcher - reportedly his two other favourites for the post.

Although recent performances, for the most part, have still been fairly dire viewing Jimmy Mac has managed to instill a great amount of fight and organisation into the side, two aspects which were badly lacking from Kenny's reign in charge of the side.

Jim is expected to name his new backroom team in the next day or two with ex Aberdeen right back Stepehen Wright (I would say ex Rangers aswell but I think the boy played about 20 seconds in his time there!) widely tipped to join the East End Park staff alongside Hamish French. Craig Robertson is apparantely busy doing his garden just now...

Although he wasn't my first choice - and no doubt he wasn't top of many other Pars fans lists - for the job the last six games have undoubtedly secured the big man a fair crack at the job in the long term.

Unbeaten in six with four wins, nine goals scored and three conceded is more than fine in my book and I'm sure I speak for the majority of the black and white faithful when I wish Jim aw the best for the future as he leads us, hopefully, onto much bigger and better things.

COME ON YE PARS!!!
